Job Skills Track

Banner_JobSkillsTrackThe Job Skills Track offers classes on specific skills, applications or communication tactics. It is open to any Duke employee with interest in learning a new skill like video editing, writing for the web, or managing a social media presence at Duke.

The current classes available for the Job Skills Track are:

Class Time Dates Description
iPhoneography 3-4 p.m. 4/8/20
Want to get great photos for your website, presentation or print publication
and all you have is an iPhone? This class will give you the tips and tricks to
compose, photograph and edit great images using just an iPhone.
Advanced Techniques in Social Media 9-10 a.m. 4/3/20
This class builds on the overview from “Managing Your Social Media Presence”
and takes a deeper dive into techniques in four specific areas: Instagram Stories,
Facebook Live, Twitter event coverage, and YouTube strategy.
Shoot and Edit: Video Production 10 a.m. – Noon 1/22/20
Participants will take their video storytelling skills to the next level and gain
experience in planning a video shoot, filming, conducting interviews and editing.
Participants are expected to provide their own cameras and will produce a
video as part of the class.
