Dance for Parkinson’s Flyer

Hi! Our Dance for Parkinson’s class is an opportunity for those with Parkinson’s, their caregivers, and volunteers to come together and dance. Our class incorporates various styles of dance and genres of music through a combination of choreographed and improvisational movement. The class is designed to support the specific needs of those with Parkinson’s, but our main focus is on the elements of dance, such as rhythm, quality of movement, and expression. Volunteers assist with set-up and being extra pairs of eyes to maintain participant safety, while participating fully in our class!

If you are interested in joining us, please email me at lindsayvoorhees@alumni.duke.edu. Our current series goes through May 29th and classes take place at ADF Studios on Fridays, from 1-2:15. We ask that volunteers arrive 15 minutes early so we can meet you and get the room set up.

Thanks,
Lindsay Voorhees
