What Data Is Collected & When
We collect student career outcomes at two key points: after graduation and during summer internships.
First Destination Outcomes (FDO)
- Employment status and employer
- Job title and location
- Compensation
- Continuing education
- Other post-graduation outcomes
- Timeline if available
- 1 month before graduation: Survey opens
- Through 6 months after graduation: Follow-up and outcome verification continue
- 6 months after graduation: Outcomes are finalized for reporting
- July: Mid-year data snapshot available for summer employer engagement
- Late January–early February: Annual outcomes report released in time for spring recruitment
Summer Internship Data
- Employer

- Compensation

- April: Initial collection begins to capture early offers and secured internships
- Throughout summer: Students can provide updates as internships are secured
- Weekly during collection: Progress updates are available to departments that opt in
- Early fall: Final internship survey closes
How You Can Help
Promote Surveys
Announce in classes, newsletters, program updates, advising sessions.
Post in student portals and communication channels.
Require Participation
Integrate completion into academic requirements (where applicable)
For programs requiring internship credit: make survey completion a requirement for passing the related course.
Support Year-Round Efforts
Mention these surveys during orientations, career workshops, employer panels.
Share the mid-year snapshot in July with students, faculty, and alumni networks.
