Ceremony Details

What is the guest policy for the Pratt School of Engineering Master’s Hooding Ceremony and Duke University Commencement Ceremony?

  • Guests are welcome to attend both the Master’s Hooding Ceremony and the Master’s Programs Reception with no limit on the number of guests and no tickets required.

  • The Duke University Commencement Ceremony DOES require tickets this year. Details on how to register are provided by the Office of Special Events & University Ceremonies here.

Where is accessible parking available?

  • Accessible parking is available in the Bryan Center Lot and adjacent parking garage.

  • Drop-off area: Bryan Center Lot/Traffic Circle.

  • There is an accessible pathway leading from the drop-off area to the ramped entrance via a slightly sloped sidewalk.

I have international friends and family who want to attend the ceremonies at Duke. Can you provide a visa letter?

I have friends and family who cannot attend. Will the ceremonies be streamed or recorded?

Diplomas & Academic Records

When will I receive my diploma?

  • September 2024 graduates and December 2024 graduates: Diplomas should have already arrived by mail.

  • May 2025 graduates:

    • Diplomas will be mailed to the “degree address” selected in DukeHub.

    • Domestic addresses: Expect delivery 4-5 weeks after graduation.

    • International addresses: Expect delivery 5-7 weeks after graduation.

    • Digital diploma: Sent to Duke email from Parchment (check spam folder if missing) shortly after May 20.
