Political Leadership Council

The Political Leadership Council (PLC) is a group of student leaders who are passionate about politics and who represent the interests of students across Duke’s campus. In addition to advising POLIS on how best to engage the student body, PLC members:

  • Support efforts to increase voter registration, education, and turnout for the 2016 election;
  • Serve as an official liaison between their student organizations and POLIS (N/A for at-large seats);
  • Serve as ambassadors to friends, classmates, and the Duke student body on all things POLIS;
  • Support coordination of and attend POLIS programs and events;
  • Learn more about politics and the political process through exclusive access to special guests visiting campus and hands-on workshops and learning experiences.

Ideal student representatives must have an interest in politics, broadly defined; demonstrate ability for commitment and follow through; and be willing to work with others who hold different political beliefs.
