Running a Meeting: Pre- and Post-work, and staying on track!

Meetings are an essential component of organizational cohesion by identifying and discussing team objectives and trajectories. In an effort to ensure meeting effectiveness, careful consideration should be taken in the development of the pre-and post-work. Additionally, understanding the importance of maximizing the meeting’s efficacy through proper topic and time management is also beneficial. All of the above-mentioned play a key role in the successful execution of project management. Negative implications of not using these techniques can result in over or under-utilization of resources, missed deadlines, inactivity, and miscommunication. Therefore it is crucial that these tools are thoroughly understood and properly implemented.

  • About the Speaker:

    Chiquta Harris is a clinical research professional with over 10 years of educational and professional experience in various aspects of academia and industry-related clinical research. The majority of her experience spans from the study start-up where she worked in multiple therapeutic areas that include but are not limited to oncology, chronic diseases, hematology, gastrointestinal, neurology, infectious and respiratory diseases, immunology, and vaccines. She most recently spent roughly two years working in the start-up, clinical, eTMF, and project management functional areas on a COVID-19 study. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in clinical research from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Chiquta is currently taking time away from the industry as she pursues her doctorate degree in public health while working on maternal and child health philanthropic programs within her local community.
