About the Speaker:
Stephen Toback is a seasoned media architect and senior producer with extensive experience in academic, media, and entertainment industries. Currently, he serves as the Media Architect and Senior Producer at Duke University, where he has been instrumental in implementing global media and collaborative technology solutions across the University and Health system. Stephen leads a team that produces video course content and co-curricular academic and marketing videos, and has designed and implemented several media spaces, including a new studio and editorial suite complex at Duke's Bryan Center Studios.
Prior to his tenure at Duke, Stephen held significant roles at DisneyToon Studios and Walt Disney Television Animation, where he managed large teams and oversaw technology infrastructure, animation systems, and post-production processes. His leadership in these roles included handling multi-million-dollar technology budgets and directing major projects such as the Production Media Asset Management System.
Stephen's career began at Warner Brothers, where he founded the Television Animation Production Technology Group, and at Chiat/Day, where he managed Macintosh systems and developed training programs. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in Electrical Engineering/Film from the University of Miami, graduating with full university honors.
With a robust background in project management, strategic planning, and technology implementation, Stephen is passionate about leveraging his expertise to enhance productivity, quality, and organization in media production. His work has consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence in the field.
