The Duke Department of Pediatrics proudly recognizes Dr. Christine Martin, a gastroenterologist fellow, who was selected as 2026 Katz-Denny Fellow in the distinguished Unified Program for Therapeutics in Children (UPTiC).
UPTiC is an NIH-funded T32 program in collaboration with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, designed to prepare physician-scientists in pediatric therapeutics, from bench to bedside.
Dr. Christine Martin will be mentored by Dr. Michael Kappelman from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Dr. Laine Thomas, Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke. Dr. Martin’s study will evaluate the weight and BMI trajectory and treatment response of pediatric patients with IBD after non-TNF advanced therapies.
