From the Office of Research & Innovation:
Duke is engaged in an initiative to modernize and improve our sponsored research proposal development and submission process, with an eye towards making it easier, faster, and more effective for faculty and their research administrators. This is a partnership between pre-award offices, technical teams, and supporting partners like OR&I.
Early responses point to two consistent themes:
- Opportunities to improve how we develop budgets and complete administrative components of proposals
- Frustration with entering and re-entering the same information across forms and systems
Agree with the early findings? Have different pain points? Your feedback will directly inform recommendations aimed at making proposal submission more efficient and better aligned with the realities of research at Duke.
