We are pleased to announce that Mai ElMallah, MD, MS, FAAP, will be the Director of Duke Pediatrics Research Scholars Program(DPRS) starting on February 1, 2026. Dr. ElMallah brings a breadth of experience in training pediatrician-scientists as the Duke Pediatric K12 training director and a Pediatric R38 MPI. She is an accomplished scientist, outstanding mentor and leader. We are excited about the direction and opportunities ahead under her guidance.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Landstrom, MD, PhD, for his exemplary leadership as Director of DPRS over the last few years. Dr. Landstrom’s efforts have had a lasting impact on the success of our pediatric-scientist trainees, including our collaboration with DPRS+ at the Duke -National University of Singapore (NUS) and overall programmatic growth; just to mention a few. We wish him the best in this new chapter of his career.
