Seeking Faculty Reviewers for K Club – February 2026 Cycle

Dear Faculty,

We are seeking faculty reviewers for the current cycle of the Department of Pediatrics K Club (for applicants submitting NIH K applications in February 2026). We are offering compensation to reviewers for their time and effort in the form of discretionary funds ($150 per workshop).  *Please note, if receiving discretionary funds for this, you will not be able to use this service/activity towards your end-of-year faculty compensation plan. Faculty members of any level with experience securing NIH funding are welcome to sign up.  Reviewers will receive relevant application drafts 1-2 weeks before the workshop and will be expected to review the drafts in advance and attend the workshop to participate in a critical discussion of the application.

We have the following workshops scheduled.  If your schedule allows, please follow this link to sign up for one (or more), or email us at PediatricResearch@duke.edu letting us know which you can attend:

  • Candidate Section Workshop: Tuesday, October 21, 2-3pm
  • Significance/Innovation Workshop: Monday, November 17, 1-2pm
  • Full Mock Review: Tuesday, December 16, 10-11am

The K-Club is open to early-career investigators in the department who have an interest in acquiring funding for research via NIH career development awards, and thrives on the support of faculty reviewers.  The applicant participating this cycle is:

  • Anna Williams, MD, Assistant Professor, Pediatric Nephrology; K23: Improving Transitional Care for Neonatal AKI Survivors: A Mixed-Methods Study of Family-Centered Education and Provider-Facing Clinical Tools

Again, if you’re able to, please select a workshop here or email us at PediatricResearch@duke.edu.  You will receive a calendar invite for the workshops to which you are assigned.  Thanks very much, and let us know if you have questions.
