As of today, the NIH announces all grant and cooperative notices of funding opportunities in both Grants.gov and the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts.
This will change in fiscal year 2026. As the NIH aims to streamline the application and funding processes, the NIH will announce all of their notices of funding opportunities solely in the Grants.gov platform.
What does this mean?
1. Funding Opportunities will be inaccessible from the NIH guide and the NIH Guide Table of Contents Subscription emails.
2. Funding Opportunities will be searchable from Grants.gov, using their Classic search or their new Simpler search. You can also use Grants.gov subscription services to receive notifications of new NIH funding opportunities.
3. The NIH Guide will continue to be a source of NIH Policy and Informational Notices.
