Wood fired Za is life! Saturday night, we gathered for more than a dozen different specialty pizzas baked fast and fresh at the home of second year PhD student Suzanne Bartholf-DeWitt and her husband Greg. He had recently built a wood burning pizza oven in the back yard of their Durham home, and he was anxious to try it out on a crowd! No “starving grad students” here. Greg had a dozen willing test subjects who gobbled up the pizzas as fast as he could make them, and he made them fast! The patio pizzeria oven was 1K degrees Fahrenheit which cooks the fresh dough in under 2 minutes. Microwaves move over, we love the open hearth life! Thanks Greg and Suzanne and a shout out to Zoe!
