Fifteen lucky students, faculty and staff from the Department of Pathology PhD program spent quality time with the lemurs at the Duke Lemur Center in Durham, North Carolina in April. We received a tour of all the habitats including the nocturnal building, and were treated to watching a training session. The Duke Lemur Center is the world’s largest and most diverse collection of lemurs outside Madagascar. To find out more go to their website.
We loved the lemurs so much we had to bring one home! Meet “Maky,” our new Mascot! Maky will be doing “rotations,” spending time in the labs where the students work. Watch for future posts about Maky helping to make sure the scientists keep their lab books up to date while bringing a smile to students and mentors alike!
