DSSI Visiting Professor Darren Johnson, MD, Recap

IMG_1412On Friday, April 29, 2016, DSSI team members had a wonderful evening at the University Club with the DSSI Visiting Professor Darren Johnson, MD, who presented: “ACL Reconstruction 2016: Pearls of success and triumphs of failure!”

Dr. Johnson’s presentation was followed by presentations of some of the most challenging knee cases in conference Friday morning. While they tried diligently, the DSSI team could not stump the professor! During lab, they learned the “old fashioned” way of two-incision ACL reconstruction and how to repair the “Irreparable” Radial Tear of the Lateral Meniscus.

The team had a nice lunch on the Terrace with the faculty and fellows, followed by a fierce competition of golf between the attendings and the fellows. Fortunately, Dr. Johnson’s prowess (helped by Drs. Mather and Urbaniak—not much by Moorman!) prevailed and the attendings ruled for another year. Dr. Mather picked up honors in the Longest Drive competition and Dr. Johnson posted the honors for closest to the pin!

We would like to thank Dr. Johnson for his visit and the wisdom imparted on those at DSSI.
