The Outreach Design Education (ODE) Program Hackathon at Duke University focuses on engineering design-centric educational opportunities for Middle School students and their teachers. The first annual Design Hackathon will take place on March 24 and 25, 2023 at The Design Pod at Duke University’s West Campus. Over two days, middle school students and their teachers will participate in an introductory engineering design activity and use rapid prototyping tools (3-D printing, laser cutting, and Arduino programming) to design and create devices.
We ask that teachers select groups of 3-4 students who are passionate about STEM and who they believe would benefit from this program (a single teacher may sponsor multiple teams.) Teachers will apply using the link below and parents and guardians of the students will receive an official invitation to join the Hackathon.
THIS PROGRAM IS FREE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. MEALS AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED.
TEACHERS PLEASE APPLY FOR THE HACKATHON ON BEHALF OF A STUDENT TEAM
