Citizen Science

Every sighting matters!

Citizen science is an important component of the MAPS study and will enable researchers and the public to work together to better understand these understudied species. 

We’re working with leading high technology and citizen science experts, Conserve.io and WildMe, to create an app that will collect, analyze, and store data on marine mammals.

This app will give people, like you, the chance to contribute to the project by uploading your photos to share with scientists and policy makers.

App to likely include features such as:

• Computer-vision assisted species detection
• Automated photo-identification
• Individual animal profiles
• Bulk image uploads
