Giselle is a senior at Duke University studying marine science and conservation. She is interested in using scientific research to inform environmental policies. For the past 3 years, she has been involved in marine genetics research, using marine mammal genome inform hypoxia treatment for humans. Apart from her studies, she is currently employed at Duke Cancer Institute as a science communication fellow, where she creates educational visual media for the public, explaining cutting- edge cancer research. Through education and policy-making, she hopes her passion can help more people gain an interest in nature conservation.
