Provider #6: Dobbs has affected us very profoundly. I’ve had patients came from states where they couldn’t get an abortion. Patients who have an urgent medical condition. For example, they’ve broken their water — to use a lay word — they have premature rupture of membranes, and they’re at a stage in pregnancy where there is a zero possibility of survival, for the pregnancy to continue. And there’s not many things in medicine that are zero or 100. This is 100% fatal for the pregnancy, and they could not get care in their state in the South, and they came to me seven days later. They had gone through seven days with the risk of infection and death to the mother. Because nobody would take care of them in their home state. Your jaw hits the floor when you hear things like that, when you see things like that.
