Psychology and African & African American IDM with Education Minor
Cartier is a rising senior from Austin, TX. Next year, he will serve as the Co-President of the Black Student Alliance (BSA), Education Chair for the Alpha Alpha Chi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He is a founding member and Student Leader in The Mitchell-White House. He has had the opportunity to the be the President and Co-Director of Communications of BSA, VP of his fraternity chapter, an ensemble member of Duke Hoof ‘N’ Horns’ “The Wiz”, and a member of Duke’s premier African dance team, Nakisai ADE. He is participated in Duke Engage San Francisco, I was Research Assistant with the Duke Identity and Diversity Lab, and Abele Ambassador at the Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture. I’m interested in doing research in Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in the public education system, hip-hop, and colorism. I’m a capable dancer, poet, and overall artist.
