Our model comprises the following components:
-
-
- Our peer-consultation service focuses on multicultural factors associated with client care, particularly with the goal of helping one another implement multicultural conscious and responsive therapy.
- Our didactic series includes a large array of topics to increase broad training in multicultural psychology.
-
Historically, our team has also included the Diversity Action Committee. This platform was used to target organizational-level factors to make the clinic more multiculturally competent. For example, as a team, we have conducted trainings about multiculturally responsive care (e.g., managing micro-aggressions, in-session skills, etc.) for other professionals, changed our intake paperwork and interview questionnaires to be more sensitive and inclusive, advocated for gender-neutral restrooms within our health-care setting, and developed and distributed “safety symbols.”
