On-Campus Employment

Various Campus Opportunities

If you are a student interested in working part-time (less than 20 hours per week) there are many opportunities. While the university policy is no more than 20 hours per week, we highly recommend limiting your working time to no more than 10 hours per week. You will find yourself with a high level of academic rigor and we’ve found that students excel best, both academically and professionally, when they limit their working hours to no more than 10 per week.
If you’re interested in finding a part-time job on campus, the I house has put together this excellent resource page.

Please note, international students who hold an F-1 or J-1 visa must fill out appropriate documents with Duke Visa Services prior to beginning work.

Teaching Assistant

Generally, Teaching Assistant (TA) positions will become available after your first semester. This is because the faculty member would ideally like their TA to have taken (and performed well!) in their course previously. If you are interested in becoming a TA, discuss the position directly with the faculty member.

*Note: TAs are expected to be on campus prior to the first day of class.

Department Student Worker

From time to time, various departments at Pratt may be in search of a student worker. When these positions become available, they will be announced through email.
