MEM Student Club Resources

Hosting an Event

Since we have MEMers living in Durham and studying around the world, it is advisable for clubs to host a combination of in-person and online events. As leaders of your club, think about what events translate best virtually and what are delivered better in-person. Duke expects you to hold a combination of events in order to best serve students in your program.

    • Online – Zoom platform is best but important to think about timezones and when people can attend.
    • In-person – Most club events can be held in-person for Spring 2022 semester.  Approval and permit will be required for events over 100 attendees.

Advertising an Event

Once you decide to host an event, you need to get the word out.

New Club Proposal

Do you have a club you would like to launch? Pitch it to the MEM administration! We love hearing from MEM students and are open to ideas. To be considered, please complete the New Club Proposal with as much detail as possible. Email the completed proposal to Rachel Mwombela and she will arrange a review of your idea!
