2022 Hooding Ceremony Information

We look forward to celebrating with you during the Master of Engineering Management Hooding Ceremony on Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 PM.

The ceremony will take place in Reynolds Industries Theater, located in the Bryan Center. The doors will open at 1:30 PM, please arrive around 1:30 to ensure plenty of time for check in and seating.

Some important information about your participation:

  • Parking for the Pratt School of Engineering Master’s Hooding Ceremony will be available for all students and guests in the Bryan Center Garage. Overflow parking will be available in the Science Drive Garage. Rideshare drop-offs should be directed to the Bryan Center Circle at 135 Science Drive
  • Wear your graduation regalia (cap and gown) to the theater, but do NOT wear your hood. Bring your hood with you and you will be given instructions on what to do with it when you arrive
  • When you arrive, immediately check in at the registration table to pick up your name card. This is the card the speaker will receive to announce your name as you walk across the stage. DO NOT LOSE THAT CARD, it will be your ticket to walk across the stage
  • After checking in and receiving your name card, you should immediately enter Reynolds Industries Theater where you will be seated. Staff will be there to ensure you are seated in the correct row. Seating for family and friends is general admission
  • The ceremony will begin with some brief messages, you will then be escorted to the stage where your name will be called and you will be hooded by a faculty member from your department. This VIDEO offers a demonstration of the hooding process. As you exit the row to approach the stage, ensure you have your name card in your hand and your hood draped over your arm like in the video.
  • After the closing remarks, music will begin to play and students will formally recess out of the theater. Before leaving your seat, make sure to gather all of your belongings as you will not be permitted back inside the theater. You are welcome to meet your family and friends in the Bryan Center
