Hello everyone, and welcome to my WordPress site! I’m Meredith Goldsmith (Associate Professor of English), Ursinus College, in Montgomery County, PA. This year I serve as a Humanities Writ Large Fellow at Duke University, where I’m learning about a whole lot of things. I’m a scholar and teacher of late nineteenth-century American literature, and have been published in Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers, American Literary Realism, and modern fiction studies, among others. I also serve as the Editor of the Edith Wharton Review. My major project while at Duke this year is developing an interactive map of Edith Wharton’s New York. Please check in for discussions of mapping, literature, travel, and life in Durham, NC.
