This detailed slide deck describes requirements has been prepared for MEng students and is presented at the beginning of each semester.

MEng students are required to complete an internship during the summer between their first and second years.  These internships typically  last 8 weeks (minimum, full time).

Two Engineering Business courses: MEng 540 and 570 are also required as part of the 10 Graduate course requirements.

4 +1 students perform their internship their summer between finishing their undergraduate work and beginning their master’s studies.

Refer to this archived presentation  MEMS Research Internship Requirement Review for more details and please ensure that you attend the required internship meeting every year.

You will be automatically registered for MEng 550 and MEng 551 when you take your internship.  These are not courses, but appear on your transcript to reflect that your requirement has been satisfied.  You receive a CR/NCR (Credit/No-Credit) after you have completed the internship and if your supervisor’s assessment of your work is satisfactory.  This assessment comes in the form of an electronics survey that your supervisor receives from us and is due immediately at the end of the summer internship.  The assessment questions are found in the file below:
