Visiting Scholars

Visiting scholars are individuals who hold faculty appointments (including instructors) at institutes of higher learning abroad or around the U.S. They must be nominated by a Duke University faculty member and are expected to conduct independent and/or collaborative research during their time at Duke.

The Asian/Pacific Studies Institute (APSI) welcomes a select number of scholars from the Asia Pacific region to visit Duke each year. Visiting scholars whose research focuses on or relates to Korea are invited to contact an APSI faculty member to submit a research proposal.

Korean professionals (e.g. journalists, researchers, librarians, civil servants and educators) seeking to conduct independent study in the U.S. under the guidance of a Duke University mentor are invited to apply for the Korea Research Fellows program.
