An international group of the world’s best thinkers identified the 14 biggest challenges facing the world in the 21st century, and engineers are tasked with finding innovative solutions to these issues. The challenges encompass themes such as “sustainability, health, security, and joy of living.”

What are Grand Challenge Scholars?

The Thomas C. Katsouleas National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Grand Challenge Scholars Program “educates young scholars with the technical expertise, breadth of knowledge and the social, ethical and environmental awareness to be leaders.”
