About Me

I am a Family Medicine resident at Duke University. I received both my MD and PhD degrees at Duke in 2018.

As a health care provider, I partner with patients, families, and communities to help them identify and achieve their health-related goals. I believe that people are the experts in their own lives, and thus I try to listen to and guide patients rather than direct them. I enjoy practicing preventive medicine and taking a whole-person approach to health care. In my free time, I enjoy singing, playing tennis, throwing pottery, spending time with my significant other, and cuddling our pet rabbits.

My research focuses on patient-physician communication, patient decision making, and healthy behavior choices. I received my PhD in consumer behavior, and I am interested in applying the principles of behavioral economics in a culturally-sensitive way to help people live healthier lives.

In my spare time, I enjoy singing, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.
