The Mike Slive Foundation has just awarded a grant to Drs. Jung Wook Park and Jiaoti Huang to study the function of neuroendocrine cells in prostate cancer. The project will take advantage of Dr. Huang’s expertise in prostate cancer pathology and experience in neuroendocrine cell biology and Dr. Park’s technology in culturing and manipulating primary human epithelial cell in-vitro. The goal is to understand how neuroendocrine cells in benign prostate and prostate cancer contribute to tumor initiation, therapy resistance and disease progression.
