X-RAD 160 Cell Irradiator

The GSRB3 X-RAD 160 is used exclusively as a cell irradiation system. It has a maximum energy production of 160kVp x 18mA. It uses a F1 filter for beam conditioning and has a movable stage, which allows a user to alter the field size. The instrument is controlled by a password protected touchscreen system; a user will be given a user name and individual password during training. A researcher wishing to use this system should contact Ken Young for hands on training. Confirmation of this training will then be sent to Radiation Safety, who will review the application and grant the access. This process usually takes about three business days.
