Overview:
One of my passions involves exploring new ways of capturing narratives and communicating through video, photography, and audio. Developing a skillset in the production of different mediums of expression has allowed me the ability to communicate larger ideas, tell stories more effectively, and share my own vision or ideas with those around me. Throughout my coursework at Duke, I developed these skills in-depth. I have produced documentaries, illustrations, animations, and other motion design projects like title credits, logo animations, newsreels, and projection mappings.

Films/Documentaries:
Description: This was the first film I ever created in fall 2014. This was my gateway into film and enticed me to pursue an education in Visual & Media Studies.

Description: This was the first documentary I ever filmed and produced in spring 2015. This not-for-profit documentary was made over the course of 3 months to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Walltown Children’s Theater, an organization that offers acting, singing and dance classes to underserved youth in Durham, NC. The film is centered around Jade Franco, a dance student at Walltown. The film portrays Jade’s personal struggles, goals, and 11 year long experience with dance, aimed at illustrating the essence of Walltown’s work. Through my experience making this documentary, I not only improved my filming and editing abilities but began to truly understand the story-telling techniques used to capture subjects and their experiences through film and audio.

Description: This is a short experimental film capturing Washington Sq. Park in the Fall of 2016. I spent my Junior-year semester in NYC as part of the Duke in NY Arts and Media Program. I presented this video as part of my final semester project. Through filming and producing this video, I experimented with visual elements of time and space and began to develop my own style.

Description: This was my first attempt at a logo animation using Adobe After Effects.

Description: This music video was produced in my final year at Duke University and was one of my biggest challenges. Producing this music video required the combination of my skills in film, graphic design, animation, and motion design. This project involved filming, creating assets in Adobe Illustrator, and working with 3D functionalities in Adobe After Effects to overlay and insert assets into the scene.
