BME Design Fellows

The Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke recently created a new program called the BME Design Fellows, and I was a member of the first class of Fellows. This is a three semester extensive engineering design program.

The first semester introduced us to basic tools like Solidworks 3D modelling (Solidworks, Fusion 360), Circuit CAD software (Altium, EAGLE), and machine shop training.

Over the summer , we are placed in an internship or hospital shadowing position to provide additional exposure to real world engineering design concepts, skills, and needs. Finally, senior year includes a year long design project.
