Julia Searby

Julia Searby is pursuing a double major in Political Science with a concentration in Security, Peace and Conflict and Spanish at Duke. At Duke, her academic interests and student involvement largely centers on migration and Latin American studies. Since her time at Duke, Julia has mentored refugee mothers from Yemen and Syria through the Kenan Institute for Ethics. Throughout this school year, she interned at World Relief Durham, a refugee resettlement agency, as a case manager. Julia also spent her time at Duke working with an immigration attorney in Durham completing DACA renewal forms for dreamers from Honduras, Mexico and El Salvador. She hopes to pursue a career in international law following her graduation from Duke.
