“Survivor Stories” Feature

Coming to you live from the App Team with exciting news! Previously, the development team planned a “Survivor Profiles” layout almost akin to that of a social media site to display photos and bios for each survivor. Instead, the app will feature  “Survivor Stories” to be selected from a virtual book case on the main page of the application. Once opened, these books will page-turn just like any virtual reader as the survivor’s journey unfolds. Scott Powell (Duke University, 2018) developed this concept, and Matt Kirshner (Duke University, 2018) designed the book covers. Many thanks to Serena Bazemore and Professor Lieber of the Duke Center for Jewish Studies for their ongoing logistical support, as well as Sharon Halperin for providing photos and media of the survivors (as well as a completed cover titled “Esther’s Story”). A sneak peak at some of these survivor story “book covers” are below!
