HEAR BeTTER

We are doing the HEAR BeTTER study to learn whether there is a benefit to wearing two hearing aids rather than just one. People with trouble hearing who are interested in buying hearing aids may be able to join.

If you choose to join the study, you will be randomly (like flipping a coin) put into one of two groups:

  1. Group 1 will wear one hearing aid for 3 months
  2. Group 2 will wear two hearing aids for 3 months

While you are in the study, the study team will:

  • Measure your hearing ability
  • Use surveys to find out what you think about your hearing ability before, during, and after the 3 month hearing aid trial period.

At the end of your hearing aid trial, you will be able to choose the final hearing aid set-up that you want (zero, one, or two hearing aids). Then, you will wear your set-up for another three months.

The study team will ask you about what you think about your final hearing ability and hearing aid set-up through surveys and/or a focus group.

We are doing this study at two places. Call today to see if you qualify.
