I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where I entered the workforce directly out of high school. After six years in the hospitality industry, I decided it was time for a change. I moved to North Carolina with my significant other (now husband), switched into project coordination, and enrolled in an undergraduate business management program. Within that bachelor’s program, I found my love for higher education and research. It felt like the spark I had been looking for my entire life. After exploring fields such as sociology, political science, and public policy, I decided to seek a broader master’s degree, which led me to Duke! I aim to continue exploring these fields but also take the opportunity to learn passionately for the sake of learning. This flexibility may lead me to literature, art, or history, and I love that I don’t have to decide immediately. I am open to multiple pathways for the future, including pursuing a PhD and a career in higher education/academia. Wherever I end up, my main goal is to make a positive impact and have a fulfilling career. In my spare time, I love to travel, read, and hang out with my English bulldog, Gracie. My favorite destinations are Arizona, New York, and the Gulf of Mexico, and a current wishlist trip is Salem, Massachusetts in the fall.
