I’m Deng Yiwa—you can also call me Eva ( similar in pronunciation and much easier to remember right? ) I’m from China. My hometown is Sichuan Province, but I’ve lived in Hangzhou (where Alibaba’s headquarters is) for the past 10 years for work. I worked at Alibaba and Ant Group, handling marketing and brand promotion, ad placement, and running an AIGC advertising product. I am interested in content creation and novel ideas. I majored in advertising during my undergraduate studies, and this has always been my job. One of my other interests is home decoration—I posted home decor videos on Chinese platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin, and got around 100k followers. Too bad not many people in the US use these apps, so maybe I’ll start sharing on YouTube or Instagram now that I’m here. I like making videos, and I’ve been trying to use AI for video creation lately. It’s amazing how far AI is already! Actually, I was nervous at first. I’ve been out of school for a long time, so I worried if I could fit back into campus life, or if I’d feel like an outsider among all the young classmates. But after reading your introductions, I know those worries were unnecessary. I’m looking forward to studying with all of you and the time ahead!
