Hey! My name is Darasjot Hothi! I go by Daras and I am from Durham, NC. I recently graduated with my bachelor’s from NC State. I spent 2 years working with the women’s basketball team at NC State in which I learned so much especially being that I want to coach college basketball as a career. I am blessed enough to now have an opportunity to work with Duke women’s basketball while I’m doing my masters here. I really love sports in general weather its playing or watching. There’s nothing like having some football on Sunday’s. I have a part time job on the side working in the IT industry. My family has been in IT for a really long time so it kind of came naturally to me. Some other things that are my interest are cooking! YouTube gives me a lot of ideas on what to make and then I just add my own flare to a recipe. I also enjoy music and photography which have kind been around me since I was young. My cousin is a photographer so I always saw him doing work and in my culture music is really big so I ended up learning how to play the drums. I honestly can’t wait to get started with the GLS program especially because of the flexibility that’s given for people to explore their interests. I’m someone who doesn’t have many interests, but I don’t mind exploring things and learning about them which I feel like I can do at Duke.

Coming to the Duke GLS program, I hope to learn more and expand my knowledge on some things I don’t know about and also learn more about behaviors and leadership so I can use it in my coaching career.
