June is here, and our final GI Journal Club for 2012-2013 will be held on Tuesday 6/18/13 at 5PM in the Tyor Conference Room. Please plan on joining us; we have an interesting group of papers to discuss.
Matt Rein will present the colon paper by Ngeow et al “Prevalence of Germline PTEN, BMPR1A, SMAD4, STK11, and ENG Mutations in Patients with Moderate Load Colorectal Polyps from Gastroenterology 144: 1402. 2013. PMID 23399955.
Lisa Jones is presenting the advanced endoscopy paper by Singh et al from GIE, “Timing of video capsule endoscopy relative to overt GI bleeding: implications from a retrospective study” 77:761. 2013. 23375526.
Julius Wagner is presenting the “hot topic,” a recent paper from NEJM by Jacobson et al (note that there are Duke authors) “Sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C Genotype 2 or 3 in Patients without Treatment Options” 368: 1867. 2013. PMID 23607593.
To wrap up the 2012-2013 GI journal club, as we prepare for summer vacations and related travel, if time allows, Katie Garman will present an article by Drew Peterson et al recently published in the NEJM on in-flight emergencies, PMID 23718164.

Josh will present the hot topic paper by Vazquez-Roque et al from Gastroenterology entitled A controlled trial of gluten-free diet in patients with irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea: effects on bowel frequency and intestinal function, PMID 23357715.
