A Letter from our Co-Presidents

The Association of Women in Business (AWIB) was established to support all individuals that identify as women in our Fuqua community. Our themes are: presence, community, and inclusivity. Our mission is to empower women+ of all identities to be change-makers at Fuqua and beyond.  This year, we are particularly focused on celebrating intersectionality, revitalizing our community, and developing strong partnerships.

We are proud and excited to lead AWIB and hope you will join us in furthering our mission.

Sincerely,

Jenna Bhaloo and Steen Burias

Inclusivity

Inclusivity is one of our themes this year for AWIB. As we all play a role in creating inclusive spaces, know that allyship is an ongoing process. We also know that Allyship is about accountability.

We’re excited to launch our inaugural AWIB Manbassador Program. A “Manbassador” is an ally that identifies as a man who works to end gender discrimination by supporting and being an advocate for women. This program will be made up of MBA students dedicated to fighting gender equity as students and future workforce leaders. This program was inspired and will be modeled after a similar program at Berkeley Haas. Haas has had successful program for over 7 years now. You can read more about how their Manbassador program began and some of their initiatives to support women and reduce gender discrimination here.

Please sign up to join our Manbassador program here. Sign-ups will be open throughout the rest of Fall 1 and Fall 2. Details on specific programming and activities will be shared for the Manbassador program in Fall 2!
