After School and Saturday

FEMMES+ offers two free 5-week programs for elementary students in the Durham area: the FEMMES+ After-School Program and the FEMMES+ Saturday Program. The After-School Program is offered at 7 elementary schools, listed below. The Saturday Program is offered to all Durham 4th-6th grade students and will be held on Duke’s campus. Please note that participants can only participate in one of these programs.

In both of our programs, 4th-6th grade students will participate in engaging, hands-on activities introducing STEM concepts. Students will be placed in small groups with a Duke undergraduate mentor who will help them with the activities and gaining an understanding of fundamental concepts.

Our goal is to empower female and other underrepresented students in STEM! We aim to build students’ confidence and inspire them to pursue their dreams. All students, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, etc., are welcome to join FEMMES+ After School and Saturday Programs.
