Diya Patel- Program Director
Hi, my name is Diya! I joined FEMMES+ in my freshman year and fell in love with the welcoming community! I love how FEMMES+ makes STEM exciting, creative, and accessible through role models and hands-on experiments!
Syeda- Program Director
Hi! My name is Syeda, and I am a Program Director of FEMMES+. I’m a senior majoring in Neuroscience. I grew up in North Carolina, and I enjoy reading in my free time. My favorite part of FEMMES+ is working with the kids and seeing them engage with STEM through hands-on activities!
Emily Zhao- After School Program Director
Hi! I’m a junior at Duke from Minnesota studying Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science. I’ve always been passionate about STEM outreach and education. Through FEMMES+, where I’ve served as Hacks Director and now as Assistant Program Director, I love showing students that there are so many paths in STEM, and that if you put your heart into it, you will find your place in it!
Outside of FEMMES+, I’m especially interested in the intersection of tech and national security, and in how people, strategy, and decision making shape how technology is implemented. I’m also involved with Duke Conversations, Duke Cyber Policy, and undergraduate research on campus!
Eujin Chung- After School Program Director/ Summer Camp Director/ Families Moving Forward Director
Hi! I’m a junior from Duke studying neuroscience and child policy research. I love being a part of FEMMES+ because of how rewarding it is to see my kids light up and smile as they learn something new in STEM. As Assistant Program Director, Summer Camp Director, and FMF Director, I have learned so much through my kids, and I hope to continue building meaningful relationships.
Outside of FEMMES+, I am passionate about understanding how family-centered pediatric policy can better support early childhood development. I am involved with NC Integrated Care for Kids, the Bilbo Lab, Duke Wind Symphony, and the Hart Leadership Program.
Cathy Yang- Capstone Director
Hi! I’m Cathy, and I’m a rising senior from Cary, NC majoring in biophysics. I’ve volunteered with FEMMES+ After-School, Saturday, Summer Camp, and Capstone programming, and love getting to see the excitement on kids faces as they perform an experiment or learn something new. As Capstone co-director, it’s especially rewarding to see a big event come to life with hundreds of kids engaged in STEM activities. Outside of FEMMES+, I enjoy figure skating, baking, and dancing with Duke Chinese Dance!
Neeharika Chintalapudi- After School Director/ Capstone Director
I’m a senior from Illinois studying Civil Engineering and Computer Science! I help run the FEMMES+ Afterschool program and FEMMES+ Capstone. In my free time, I like to read, bake, and paint!
Avry Kostelecky- After School Director
I am currently a sophomore and originally from Thompson, North Dakota! I love FEMMES+ because it allows me to share my love of STEM with younger students. Programs like FEMMES+ were super important for fueling my interest in science when I was in elementary school, so I enjoy helping others have the same experience. Outside of school, I love watching basketball and F1!
Mahi Patel- Hacks Director
My name is Mahi, and I’m a senior from Houston studying biomedical engineering and chemistry. I am a co-director of Hacks and outside of tech and volunteering, I love cooking and dancing!
Hyunjin Lee- Hacks Director
I’m a junior from New York, pursuing a major in Statistics on the pre-med track and hoping to combine my interests in the quantitative and natural sciences. Outside of sharing my enthusiasm for STEM with high schoolers through co-directing FEMMES+ Hacks, you can find me on stage with Duke Symphony Orchestra, playing tennis, conducting biostatistics research, or working as a Stats TA and Outreach Director of the Statistical Science Majors Union (SSMU)!
Sofia Mukamal- Connect Director
I’m a sophomore studying Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry. I enjoy being part of Femmes Connect, where I connect with inspiring students and share my passion for research.
Eva Aggarwal- Connect Director
Hey! My name is Eva Aggarwal and I’m Duke class of 2027, where I’m currently double majoring in Computer Science and Statistics. I’m from New Delhi, India and for fun, I love walking my two dogs (Lilo and Stitch) and experimenting with different kinds of coffee! I love FEMMES because I love connecting with kids who are passionate about STEM; I love giving back to a community that has always supported me, and helping forming the next generation of engineers, doctors and scientists who are going to change the world!
Nicole Moon- Marketing Chair
Hi! My name is Nicole, and I’m a sophomore double majoring in biology and public policy! I grew up in Atlanta, GA and I enjoy baking in my free time. I love being a part of FEMMES+ because it is such a welcoming, but also highly driven community that teaches young kids to become future innovators!
Anna Ding- Administrative Manager
Hi! My name is Anna, and I’m from San Diego, CA. I’m a sophomore majoring in Biology. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, building puzzles, and exploring food spots around Durham. My favorite part of FEMMES+ is doing fun activities with the kids, especially making gummy DNA and launching bottle rockets!
Jayden Neidell- Finance Director
I’m a sophomore studying Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry. I serve as the Finance Director of FEMMES+ and is also involved in Connect, where I work with students to foster their passion for research.
Manoela Hirata Prado- Families Moving Forward Director
I’m a freshman planning to major in Statistical Science, with a double major or minor in Biology. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, cooking with friends, and collecting cute trinkets! Through FEMMES+, I’ve had the opportunity to inspire other students to pursue STEM while also meeting so many amazing members.
Maria Romero Degwitz – Volunteer Outreach Chair
Hi I’m Maria! I’m from Seattle, WA but my family is originally from Venezuela. I’m a sophomore studying Neuroscience on the pre-med track. In my free time I love to play guitar, do latin dance, and volunteer with FEMMES+! I love getting to know the kids and hearing about their creative and ambitious dreams.
