NYC/Remote – RE(SOURCE) – Content Strategist /Creative Copywriter

RE(SOURCE) is an early-stage startup based in NYC backed by a top institutional VC. It is a differentiated and growing B2B fashion wholesale marketplace. This position requires someone who is a digital storyteller with an appetite to take content to the next level. This position involves creating content for web, print, blog, email, and social media platforms including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The strongest candidates are open to uncertainty (nature of an early-stage startup!),strategic, excel at digital communication, and can drive results with creativity. Besides regular cadence of social media, email and blog content creation, you will directly work with the founders to run hypothesis testing. We will figure things out together! This position involves bringing effective content marketing to life and supporting different initiatives through strong project management. You will work closely with a team of social media manager (the executor of your strategy), graphic designers (we have a dedicated chief designer and a team of freelancers), event creative director, and the founders. We entrust our interns with big responsibilities and expect them to lead projects with proficiency.

Responsibilities: Work with Social Media manager and graphic designers to plan detailed content calendars for each platform: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook Group, Instagram. You will be in charge of the high level content direction setting and the social media manager can execute. Create a newsletter copy each week, Create content for all marketing assets – including writing copies in sales documents and brochures. You will also create copy for tagline, banners and posters when we exhibit on trade shows (happen regularly!) Draft messaging documents for all demand side Draft and manage website copy Work alongside the founders to design, implement and analyze testings for messaging on demand side Create 4 blog articles per month

Requirements: Exceptional attention to detail – particularly written skills. This is an absolute must! Organization Overview

ProsperUs Detroit is a community economic development organization that infuses low-to-moderate
income communities with services and capital to support income generation, business growth, and
neighborhood revitalization from within. We do this in partnership with community organizations,
residents, local and national stakeholders, and, most importantly, entrepreneurs.

Our core programming includes:

  • Entrepreneur Training: We help emerging business owners get started with business planning
    classes and one-on-one support. Focused on the entrepreneur, we provide 12 classroom
    sessions at a community partner site paired with ten hours of one-on-one support that teaches
    the fundamentals of business and address specific needs.
  • Business Services: We help entrepreneurs connect to professional service providers and provide
    grants to support their investment in projects. Through intentional investments on our part, we
    connect business owners with trusted providers who are skilled in legal, marketing, graphic
    design, accounting, and several more services.
  • Microlending: We provide access to capital through a relationship-based lending process
    designed to meet entrepreneur needs. Through trusted relationships, we coach business owners
    every step of the way to secure a loan that fits their needs regardless of their previous financial
    experiences.

For the last ten years, ProsperUs has served as a catalyst for small business development in
neighborhoods. We have partnered with community members, neighborhood organizations, and
resource providers to respond to the needs of emerging and experienced entrepreneurs in our
community to serve over 1300 entrepreneurs. We are energized and inspired by neighborhood business
leaders and work to ensure they have the resources needed to succeed.

Project Proposal Description

For the last several months, ProsperUs Detroit has been the lead organization for the Anchor Business
Project. A collaboration with the New Economy Initiative (NEI), this is a pilot project that infuses
selected businesses with capital ($25K grants) and is pairing that with coordinated coaching and
technical assistance (TA) ($6,250 TA budget). The coaching and TA are a partnership between ProsperUs
and community development organizations (CDOs) where we intend to examine the impact on the
experiences of businesses, business owners, and commercial corridors. This project is managed by
ProsperUs on behalf of The Kresge Foundation in partnership with NEI. Our CDO partners include
Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation, Jefferson East, Inc., Live6 Alliance, Midtown Detroit,
Inc., NW Goldberg Cares, Osborn Neighborhood Alliance, and Southwest Detroit Business Association.

The pilot nature of this project means that ProsperUs is extremely interested in what we can learn from
and build into future opportunities. We are seeking a Duke Community Intern to support with project
evaluation measures including, but not limited to:

  • Creating, interpreting, and analyzing survey data and results;
  • Performing interviews with business owners, CDO partners, and coaches;
  • Interpreting and analyzing interview content;
  • Creating storytelling mechanisms for project outcomes; and,
  • Supporting the project management of technical assistance project budgets.

Target Outcomes

ProsperUs and NEI are thrilled for this opportunity for collaboration with partners throughout the city.
We are hopeful that the results of this pilot will bolster other initiatives of this kind in additional
neighborhoods in Detroit as well as other cities nationally. To support this aspiration, this project will:

  • Create valuable datasets and associated analysis;
  • Value multiple “ways of knowing” by utilizing multiple evaluation methods;
  • Develop storytelling collateral (interviews, recordings, video, photography); and
  • Contribute to the overall ethos of collaboration and community.

Remote – Momentum Learning – Internship

Remote – Realize Design – Digital Marketing Intern

Home, apartment, or dorm design can be laborious, and moving furniture and taking measurements can be stressful. There is always the risk of purchasing an item that does not fit in the space, and transferring these responsibilities to an interior designer is expensive. With the increasingly virtual world, more and more purchases are made online. Customers often find it challenging to envision how furniture they see online will look in their homes.

Realize was created to address each of these pain points for consumers and make the design process personalized, social, and easy.

With only a 60 second video of their room, customers can see a 3D model of their space on their phone. From there, they can browse and shop for furniture, dragging items in to see how they would fit and look, with all the measuring done by the tech.

Design is a social experience, so consumers will also be able to connect with friends on the app, design together, or even follow people who inspire them.

Durham/Remote – Plum – Interships: Product Market Research, Marketing Specialist, Financial Modelling

Immediate Internship Opportunities Exist for the Following Capacities:

1) *Product Market Research Internship* – In this role, the successful intern will engage in primary market research in the form of interviews with existing and potential co-homeowners, across multiple segments, and in secondary research in the form of identifying industry statistics, channel partners and competitors. The successful candidate will be insanely curious, a tremendous listener, and a capable conversationalist who can keep interviewees engaged. This intern must also be good with research and documentation, and proficient in synthesizing trends and patterns from the data. The Product Market Research Intern will gain insights into how to perform market research, how to use tools like Lean Canvases and journey maps, and how to successfully and succinctly summarize and present findings. This role is 20-40 hours a week and can be in person or remote, starting immediately.

2) *Marketing Specialist Internship* – This exciting role will create the public persona of Plum. Key activities include writing marketing copy, designing website content, and building a demand generation funnel to capture leads and drive them to commitment. There will be opportunities to write advertising copy as well. The successful applicant will gain exposure to website development tools, email marketing platforms, CRM and automated lifecycle marketing. This candidate will submit writing samples during the interview process to demonstrate proficiency. This role is 20-40 hours per week and can be in person or remote, starting immediately.

3) *Financial Modelling / Pro Forma Internship* – Plum will need a financial model to guide decision making about capitalization and investment, forecast decisions about staffing and costs, and to perform sensitivity analysis on key factors of the business. The successful candidate will have experience with financial modeling and accounting, and will play an active role in early stage capitalization strategy. This candidate will present a financial model and demonstrate the ability to present and modify the model based on questions as part of the interview process. The Egg is seeking a Director of Marketing/Outreach to manage day-to-day marketing and outreach operations. We are young, small, and fast-paced. Digital marketing and advertising initiatives that might come up on the job include Google Ads, Facebook Ads, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, technical SEO, email marketing, conversion rate optimization, social media posting, and more.
