Durham/Remote – Decane – Software Engineer

Decane Studios is looking for a software engineer(s) to join our team. Our main objective is to create a single sign-on (SSO) token to access all of your accounts using biometrics as the authentication mechanism. Ideally our perfect candidate(s) should have experience with blockchain development and coding languages such as Solidity, JavaScript, and React. Experience with distributed computing and storage protocols such as IPFS and security protocols for encryption and authentication, creation of tokens or NFT. We are open to other technologies, but experience with Rust programming language, substrate, zero knowledge proof, and experience with biometric technology is a plus.

We are looking for developers who are curious about creating meaningful use cases using blockchain technology.

Our demo will be finished on December 15th, 2022. Fuqua MBA Candidates and students enrolled in the I&E Graduate Certificate will enroll in and receive class credit for “New Business Ventures” taught by Jamie Jones. Undergraduate I&E certificate participants will earn 150-300 hours with a startup for their requirements. This role qualifies for any I&E undergrad certificate student needing a 150-hour and a 300-hour experience at a startup to earn their certificate. Students not in these programs as well as external non-students can receive flexible compensation packages.

Remote – Pause for Women – Marketing and Health Education Coordinator

Pause For Women is virtual care program for women throughout the menopausal transition. Pause was developed by Dr. Kara McElligott Park, former Duke Faculty and alumni of the Masters of Management and Clinical Informatics (MMCI) program. Pause is more than just a clinic – patients can attend virtual clinic visits, but content is being developed for online classes and a monitored support community.

Dr. McElligott Park, has 13 years of clinical experience as an academic OB/GYN physician. She has also worked in clinical research, business and medical informatics. She has personally mentored countless medical students and residents during her academic career.

Responsibilities for this position will include:
– Posting events and updates on social media
– Identifying consumer market opportunities, social media communication and networking
– Coordinating online meetings and class activities
– Assist with development of patient education materials

Excellent candidates for the position will be passionate about women’s health care, and entrepreneurship. They will be comfortable working with social media, google workspace, and have excellent interpersonal and writing skills.

Durham/Remote – I&E – Research Assistant

Seeking a student research assistant to explore the connection between entrepreneurial mindset and careers. Questions to be answered include: Is the “entrepreneurial mindset” a sought after competency by firms hiring early-career talent? If so, which firms? I&E is seeking a student to support a faculty-led research project to analyze “entrepreneurial mindset” in job postings. The RA must be proficient in either Python or R and have some basic familiarity with natural language processing. Depending on the results of the research, a peer-reviewed publication could be the final output.
