Remote – Permanence Partners – Eldercare Real Estate and Healthcare Entrepreneurship Intern

Permanence Partners – Eldercare Real Estate and Healthcare Entrepreneurship Intern

If you are an entrepreneur at heart but don’t yet know your path to CEO, if you are interested in healthcare and creating a better aging experience, and if you are interested in private equity and real estate development, this internship may be of interest. Permanence Partners is a Search Fund dedicated to buying, building, and operating assisted living and memory care communities that bring meaning and security to the lives of our residents. Permanence Partners was founded in 2019 by Jonathan Schatz, Trinity ’07, Stanford Law School JD ’16, Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA ’16. Permanence Partners is a startup structured as a Search Fund, a special purpose private equity fund, dedicated to a single investment thesis and with the long-term goal of owning and operating one business in the senior housing sector. Permanence Partners will operate in three steps:

  • Identify a market need in senior housing
  • Develop and buy senior housing properties
  • Operate world-class senior housing communities where the stories of our residents’ lives are shared and written every day.

We seek interns who are above all else entrepreneurial. Entrepreneurial means that you have a bias towards action, you want to make an impact in the world, you don’t want to spend your life working for other people, and you are willing to fail if it means you fail in pursuit of your curiosity and your freedom.

This internship will be a deep dive into the dynamics of:

  • Search Fund Entrepreneurship (i.e. entrepreneurship through acquisition)
  • Healthcare – how to keep seniors safe and well, especially in a post-COVID world
  • Real Estate Development

Permanence Partners is a for-profit startup with a deep social mission – to create a better way of aging while building communities that build wealth for our investors and our employees. If you would like to be on the ground floor of this entrepreneurial journey and develop a toolkit to become a CEO in the near future, we look forward to meeting with you. This internship will report directly to the CEO. Please send resumes and cover letters to Jonathan.Schatz@permanencepartners.com. All backgrounds and majors are encouraged to apply. The role is intended for the summer but can be extended if desired.
