Venture Capital – Investment Intern

Job description

We are looking for people with a strong track record and great ambition to intern in our early stage venture capital team in Berlin. GFC is a $1BN+ globally oriented, stage agnostic fund that empowers gifted entrepreneurs. Managed from 8 offices worldwide we are a fund ‘by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs’ with a history of success backing billion-dollar companies such as Facebook, Revolut, Slack, Eventbrite, Away, Canva, Linkedin and many more.

Some of your responsibilities:

Screening & searching for new investment targets
Performing industry/landscape/technology evaluations
Conducting market sizing and competitor research
Building financial models and stress testing unit economics
Executing due diligences (expert calls, KPC analysis, etc.)
Participating in founder calls & meetings

Requirements

Outstanding academic track record from a leading institution.
Strong track record of practical experience at Tier1 employers (Consulting, M&A, PE, BigTech) or in the venture ecosystem (responsible position in startup or VC fund).
Excellent analytical and communication skills and a clear hands-on mentality.
Knowledge & passion for emerging technologies as well as an innate business model understanding.

We are looking for a motivated and inspired software developer to join our team in Berlin (or remote)! If you are considering a career at a startup, this is the place for you. About The Role

– Turn UI/UX wireframes into working user interfaces.
– Create components that can be reused and extended.
– Reach important milestones while writing clean code.
– Collaborate with Product, Design, Back End and QA colleagues to get it out to customers.
– Improve the security of the platform.
– Relevant experience in mobile development (Android and/or iOS)
– Experience building Android applications in Java using Android SDK
– A sense of test driven design and development (functional, integration, unit and smoke tests)
– Experience in working with large code bases, including API design techniques
– Experience with caching mechanisms and mobile application performance
– Experience working with APIs preferable
– Preferable if previous knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud functions
– Preferable experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment using Travis CI

Berlin – Spoak Decor – Internship

Hi everyone,

I’m Hilah. I graduated from Duke in 2012 with a degree in International Comparative Studies and Economics.

I now live in Berlin and am the founder and CEO of Spoak Decor.

Spoak is an online service that helps people find the finishing touches for their home. We help our clients by working with the furniture they already have and finding the perfect accessories (think wall art, pillows, rugs, lighting, etc) for their home and style. We source only from artisans around the world and focus on affordable pieces that have a personal meaning in some way to our clients. We believe you can have all IKEA furniture and still have an apartment with a lot of character and style.

We’re looking to hire a summer intern to work with me in Berlin. We are in the very early stages of the company, so you will have a front row seat in learning what it’s like to start your own business. The role will be hugely multi-faceted, ranging from social media and content strategy, data and insights, marketing and PR support, as well as customer experience and relations.

You are hopefully interested in entrepreneurship, start ups, and home decor. You have a passion and eagerness to learn about working in a lot of different departments, you learn quickly, you’re willing to get your hands dirty, and you’re excited about what Spoak is doing. Excitement about a summer in Europe is also a plus 🙂
