The American Council on Education’s (ACE) represents the interests of campus executives and leaders of higher education associations and organizations, ACE provides leadership on key higher education issues and influences public policy through advocacy, research, and programmatic initiatives.

ACE’s Internship Program is a cohort experience reporting to the Office of the President, and interns are assigned to various departments throughout the Council. The program is designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students ‘real-world’ work experience within a leading national higher education association. The summer 2019 cohort will include professional development sessions with current ACE staff, a DC outing, and presentations at the conclusion of the program. The internship program is inclusive of all learners and is aligned with ACE’s Strategic Framework.

Job duties and requirements for specific internship experiences in the summer of 2019 are listed below. Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

The marketing intern will have an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge to advance their academic goals in the field of marketing communications. The marketing intern will gain a better understanding of the higher education nonprofit marketing space and build positive professional/networking relationships. The marketing internship provides an opportunity to apply academic learning of the marking communication discipline to actual practice in ACE’s marketing department. The three main areas of focus for the internship are data analytics, research, and social media. The intern will learn about and provide support for the CRM (customer relationship management) system, the email deployment tool (Microsoft Dynamics), email marketing, and ACE annual meeting 2020.
