About ACCelerate

The ACCelerate festival is a celebration of creative exploration and research happening at the nexus of science, engineering, arts and design (SEAD). Each ACC member university selects between one and three projects and performances to be shown during the 2-day festival at the Smithsonian Museum of American History.

What to expect if you decide to participate in the 2019 ACCelerate: ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival:

  • Airline tickets to Washington, DC
  • Hotel, food & transport costs
  • Financial support for production and transport of displays, informational graphics, AV equipment, etc.
  • The chance to showcase your project to 30,000+ visitors in one of the most important museums in the nation’s capital
  • Awesome PR & media exposure for your endeavor
  • Lots of fun mingling with fellow innovators, inventors and artists from all fifteen ACC member universities

Each team will be responsible to develop the project idea and content and for translating the concept into an engaging and informative display based on the parameters provided. Naturally, I will be there every step of the way to support you in any way I can to realize your ideas. It is also understood that some details listed in your application will change or have to be refined as the project takes shape.

Projects can be presented via visual and informational displays, but prototypes and demonstrations are highly encouraged. For past projects, please consult the festival website: http://acceleratefestival.com/exhibitions/
