I started as a PhD student at Duke in 2020, after getting my Bachelors in Biology from UCLA. I am part of the Nicolas Cassar Lab at Duke in the Division of Earth and Ocean Sciences , studying marine biogeochemistry. My  research focuses on nutrient cycling in the open ocean, and its relationships to climate factors and microorganisms. I spend my free time cooking, biking, and watching as much TV as I can.

I came to Duke as a PhD student in 2018, after getting my bachelors and masters degrees in marine chemistry from Xiamen University, China.  I am currrently studying marine biogeochemistry in the Nicolas Cassar Lab, focusing on marine nitrogen fixation in polar and coastal oceans. Over 100 days of fieldwork at sea have not only given me the chance to study oceanography, but also to enjoy the amazing ocean views that I love, including icy Antarctica.  Most of my spare time I spend playing and watching soccer. I also enjoy hiking, marathon running, and SCUBA diving.
